Muscat: With an aim to be the ideal venue for efficient business negotiations, one that highlights the latest innovations in the IT and Telecommunications Sector, Oman Data Park (ODP) is all set to support COMEX 2012, as one of its Lead Sponsors. Held under the patronage of e.oman, the exhibition is organised by OITE Trade Fairs from the 30thApril-4thMay, 2012 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.

Oman’s premier IT, Telecom and Technology Show, COMEX 2012 links local and foreign business delegates to new information technologies and provides opportunities for B2B alliances, facilitating further market penetration. The exhibition will see first time participation from Oman Data Park this year.

"Oman Data Park is a newly established company owned by Omantel and 4Trust LLC. The company has been formed to establish a 12,000 Sq feet Tier 3 Data Center strategically located in Knowledge Oasis Muscat. The data centre will host more than 190 racks at densities varying from 3 to 10 KW per rack. Oman Data Park will bring the highest levels of security and operational reliability to the Sultanate, combining state of the art redundant systems with an integrated facility management infrastructure. Oman Data Park will provide collocation services, caged services, cloud services, IT as a service, managed hosting and other allied services to its clients. We work hand in hand with our clients and strive to make their technology integrate seamlessly while their business grows, supporting them to meet their vision" he adds.

Oman’s IT sector has immense potential and is one to watch out for, come the next 5 years. BMI has forecasted growth at 6% (CAGR) for 2012 – 2016.  Oil and Gas remains the biggest sector generating spending, but the present scenario sees many organizations adapting to the latest technology, the end result being the focus shifting to the IT and Technology sector. Oman is still behind in areas such as Cloud computing and Virtualization and ODP will take the lead in providing these services to the market.

ODP will showcase the latest innovations in the IT sector, such as Cloud Services, Colocation Services, Managed Hosting, IT as a service, Consulting Services and Business Processes Outsourcing (BPO) at COMEX 2012.
