Salalah Beach Carnival sets the pace for family entertainment

Muriya Tourism Development’s destination Salalah Beach will be the venue for a one-of-a-kind carnival fiesta on May 25 that will host varied activities and entertainment for all age groups in the picturesque marina plaza set against the Arabian Sea
19 May 2013, Muscat: A spectrum of vibrant colours and activities will encompass the Salalah Beach marina plaza on 25th May – the destination for Muriya Tourism Development’s first annual carnival fiesta. Dancers, stilt walkers, jugglers, unicyclists, gaming booths... the venue will be teeming with an array of activities that will not only allure children but will also be a visual treat for the adults.
From 3pm to 8pm, visitors will be engulfed by a festive atmosphere that will transform the arena into an outdoor fiesta of non-stop entertainment.  A number of engrossing shows will also be held, of which Aladdin and the slinky show have roused a lot of interest. The colourful springs expanding and contracting to form shapes and movement in the slinky show, is sure to keep the audience engrossed. The entry will be free for all and the food and drinks stalls will be reasonably priced for carnival enthusiasts to sample a wide variety.

One of the key attractions during the carnival will be mini cruises that will take the visitors under the several bridges built on the first man-made lagoon in Salalah, transporting them to another world. En route, they will ‘sail’ past the soon-to-open Rotana Hotel, the villas and apartments and other landmarks.
Those who would want to extend their experience can book at Juweira Boutique Hotel, the premium five-star hotel with its striking design, sophisticated dining options and exceptional Arabian hospitality. Patrons will be able to avail of special offers that the boutique hotel will be promoting over the carnival weekend.
“We are hoping to create an unforgettable event and set the tone for the carnivals to come that will attract people from all walks of life. Going by the response we received from the carnival at Jebel Sifah, we are confident of recreating the magic and enchantment and hope it will be one of the key events in Salalah’s cultural calendar,” said Bahaa Hefzallah, Director of Marketing – Muriya Tourism Development.
The carnival has been planned just a few weeks ahead of Dhofar’s famed Khareef weather that weaves its subtropical magic upon Salalah. Yet again, Muriya is looking to create an unforgettable event in a place that is set to position itself as a hub of luxury that will eventually comprise of high-end freehold apartments and villas, luxury shopping and retail outlets, five star hotels, two 18-hole PGA golf courses, 200-berth inland marina anchored by a marina township, restaurants and cafes.
