Feb 2013: Dubai Municipality with the help of Stillman’s Overseas Inc will be conducting a series of investigations and fake product seizures in Dubai in the coming fortnight. The raids will be in the wake of re-selling of counterfeit Stillman’s branded products. The regulators will be performing product compliance checks in line with product safety parameters to which original Stillman’s products have been tested and have thus been duly registered with Dubai Municipality. The creams have also been tested by SGS France Consumer Testing Laboratory.

Naseem Mohammed Rafee, Head of Consumer Products Safety, Dubai Municipality said, “Original Stillman’s products are registered with Dubai Municipality and we have been made aware of the substandard counterfeit products being imported into the country. We are now working with Stillman’s Overseas Inc. to conduct raids against counterfeit product wholesalers and take the products off the shelves. Customer safety is important to us and unauthorized products do not meet our standards.”

Abraham at the law firm Galadari & Associates says:  “We have launched a rigorous legal campaign against infringers’ of our client Stillman’s Overseas Inc Company’s trademark in UAE that has resulted in extensive monetary losses to them.  The newly refined Intellectual Property laws of the UAE along with amendments to penalties including jail time for perpetrators are in our favor coupled with the UAE government’s overall initiative towards an anti-counterfeit campaign. It is only a matter of time before the counterfeit sellers and trans-shippers are brought to justice”
