Al fair Super Market Oman.
Al Fair is perhaps the oldest chain of supermarkets in Oman, and has the same branding as Spinney’s in the UAE. Al Fair is the only supermarket chain to offer Pork goods in clearly identified small rooms in the stores. The rooms are marked “For non-Muslims only” and contain everything from fresh Bacon to frozen pork chops from Brazil. There is a 100% tax on Pork products in the Sultanate, and as such Pork is very expensive. A pack of fresh back bacon will cost you more than RO 8 quite frequently. However, there are frozen bacon, frozen sausages, frozen pork chops, pork loin, ribs and joints available for a more reasonable price.
There are Al Fair outlets in the following locations:
Ruwi, Qurum (CCC Center), Sarooj, MQ, Al Hail and Markaz Al Bhaja. The better four of these stores are found in Qurum, MQ, Sarooj and Markaz Al Bhaja.
Al Fair stocks western imported foods much like TSC and Carrefour, but has a British twist, with many Waitrose products on sale. The MQ Al Fair also has a reasonably good cheese collection, but it is considerably expensive.
