With RO 7 million prize money in 2013, al Mazyona offers one of the biggest prize money in the savings scheme history in Oman and the region. The cash bonanza is an incredible incentive, aimed at offering a life-changing experience for al Mazyona customers.

Prudent savings habit pays off for winners
Khalid bin Nasser al Toobi from Baushar branch, a monthly prize winner of the 2013 scheme, said al Mazyona had helped him to inculcate a strong savings habit. Thirty-nine year-old Al Toobi said he deposited small amounts into his account every month, which resulted in the attractive monthly prize of RO 10,000. He commented : “al Mazyona reaches out to all segments, including children,  encouraging them to save for the rainy day. Whether small or big amounts, what is important is to maintain a savings culture, which will yield significant gains.”

Al Toobi represents the experienced generation aware of the responsibilities to maintain prudent savings habits. Elated on the prize money, Al Toobi said that he would retain the amount in his savings account to utilise it later for something really essential.

Fatima al Rashdy from Al Khoud branch, another monthly prize winner, said al Mazyona provided customers a means of meeting their financial aspirations and improving their lives. She said the bonanza was timely as she was planning to buy a new car. “I am so happy that al Mazyona has fulfilled my dreams.”  

Ahmed bin Salem al Alawi of Al Kamil branch, winner of RO 300,000 quarterly prize in 2012, said the big prize came as a life changing experience for him.  “I always dreamt of winning a prize and it has totally changed not only my life but also the future of my family.”  He utilised the prize money to invest in a new house and commercial buildings as well as a new car and reinvested the remaining amount in al Mazyona savings account. “This is an exciting scheme reflecting the dreams and ambitions of Omani people. I am glad to be a part of this initiative which has a positive impact on the people and nation.”

Reinforcing its reach and appeal, the total prize money of al Mazyona was raised to over RO 7 million in 2013 compared to RO 6 million in 2012. As on date, the scheme offers the biggest prize money in Oman and the region.

Notably, the enhanced prize money will be shared by more winners as customers from all governorates are guaranteed to win prizes ranging from RO 1000 a week to RO 100,000 at the end of the year.

The 2013 al Mazyona scheme reaches out to all individual segments with exclusive prizes earmarked for ladies, youth, children and high savings balance customers in all regions.

The 2013 al Mazyona scheme offers exciting weekly, monthly, quarterly and grand prizes. The simple and flexible scheme was structured after a thorough market survey through an independent market research agency covering Muscat and other interior regions. Winning with al Mazyona has never been simpler as customers are not required to block their money for long or wait for a long time to win the big prize.”

Win RO 1000 every week: With 3 prizes reserved for every governorate, customers have a very good chance to win RO 1000 with just a minimum balance of RO 100. In all, there are 27 prizes reserved every week for the governorates (9 in Muscat, 6 in Batinah, 3 in Dhakliya+Wusta, 3 in Dhahirah+Musandam, 3 in Dhofar and 3 in Sharqiya). Customers get one chance for every RO 100 balance.

Win RO 10,000 every month: Customers maintaining a minimum balance of RO 1000 get a chance to win RO 10,000 every month. For every RO 1000 balance, customers are entitled to 10 winning chances. Here also, 27 prizes are reserved every month for the governorates (9 in Muscat, 6 in Batinah, 3 in Dhakliya+Wusta, 3 in Dhahirah+Musandam, 3 in Dhofar and 3 in Sharqiya). The more the balance, higher the winning chances.

Win RO 50,000 every quarter: Customers maintaining a minimum balance of RO 1000 for 3 months get a chance to win the big prize of RO 50,000 during the quarters ending March, June and September. One quarterly prize is reserved for each of the governorates listed above. The longer the saving, higher the chances to win.

Win RO 100,000 at end of the year: Customers maintaining a minimum balance of RO 1000 for the last quarter of the year get a chance to win RO 100,000 at the end of the year. In all, 9 winners from the governorates will win RO 100,000 each. Customers get 10 chances for every RO 1000 balance. The higher the balance, higher the chances to win.

Priority Banking customers: asalah Priority Banking customers maintaining a minimum balance of RO 30,000 are eligible to participate in all al Mazyona prizes for governorates, in addition to exclusive monthly, quarterly and year-end prize draws. The climax will be a jackpot prize draw of RO 500,000 for 1 lucky Priority Banking customer.

Prizes worth RO 1 million at end of the year:  With 9 winners from the governorates and 1 winner from Priority Banking customers, in all 10 customers will win RO 100,000 each, thus having a grand finale of prizes worth RO 1 million at the end of the year.

Zeinah Account Holders: Targeted at Zeinah women customers, al Mazyona offers 3 prizes of RO 1000 each every week. The prizes are available exclusively for Zeinah account holders maintaining a minimum balance of RO 100.

Children’s Account Holders: By maintaining a monthly balance of RO 50, all al Mazyona Children’s account holders get a chance to win one of the 20 prizes of RO 100 every month. If the child is celebrating his or her birthday during that month, they also stand a chance to be one of 10 additional lucky winners to receive RO 100 each.

Shababi Account Holders: Youth customers opening a new Shababi account with just RO 10 get a chance to win RO 300 every month. In all, there will be 10 winners every month in the youth category. Shababi account holders are also eligible for other al Mazyona prizes by maintaining a minimum balance of RO 100.

Reward for loyalty: A continuing attraction is that the winning chances get multiplied by the number of years customers are associated with al Mazyona savings scheme. For example, if  a customer has been saving for 5 years, his chances of winning get multiplied by 5 times and similarly if he has been maintaining al Mazyona savings account  for 20 years, his chances get multiplied 20 times and so on. This benefit is unique only to al Mazyona savings scheme holders and no other bank offers this, as on date.

Certification and validation of al Mazyona draw: In order to maintain the tradition of providing complete transparency of the scheme, Bank Muscat will continue to conduct al Mazyona prize draws at public places and get these tested and certified by external auditors. al Mazyona prize draw and general purpose controls surrounding the draw will be fully tested and certified by Price Waterhouse Coopers – one of the globally reputed consulting firms. Bank Muscat pioneered this proactive step and is proud to continue this tradition in Oman. al Mazyona scheme will be certified by Price Waterhouse Coopers for communicating good governance and transparency.
