Short term visa fee cut from RO20 to RO5
Amending visa rules for foreigners, Royal Oman Police (ROP) has slashed the fees for short term visas and also extended the free visa period from 24 to 48 hours, for cruise passengers and crew.
In the decision (No 32/2012), which is likely to have a big impact on tourist inflow into the sultanate, the ROP has brought down the visa fees from RO20 to RO5 for tourists visiting the sultanate for less than ten days.
For cruise liners, the visa fee will be RO5 per person for the period above 48 hours and extending upto ten days. Earlier, the RO5 visa fees was for the duration from 24 hours to 96 hours.
